why do i race?
i form a very distinct memory whenever i see someone performing at an elite level in endurance sports. i get teary eyed. the best of the best. elites. the gods in lycra among us mortals.
endurance sports require so so much mental strength. you have to do things which almost everyone says are crazy. unhealthy even. you still do them. sometimes to prove it to others, but mostly to prove it to yourself.
i want to stand among the gods in lycra on the start line. i want to be someone people like me watch and feel something for the sport. i race to find out whats possible.
ive not found my limits yet. i want to break for once. to truly find out what i am capable of. because what i thought was impossible for me a couple of years back, i can do now in a heartbeat.
ive never found myself at the start of a race at 100%. i am chasing that feeling.
fitness levels are rising. i can feel it in my blood.
